Clarity

I’ve been thinking, what do i want from university? A degree? a masters?

Thinking that one of these could be in my future is something of a shock. I still don’t see this as me, but it is in. Anyway the thing i would like to take away from university is clarity. I would like to leave with a clear understanding of what i want in my future, the degree would be nice but the sense of having a clear vision of my future would be the real prize.

I handed in my first assessment on Friday, followed by second assessment on the Monday. A few little hiccups but i feel as a group we pulled it together. The groups in the over all projects feel right, everyone seems happy enough with their own projects, as are we. I especially feel great about it since the project we are tackling is similar to a project i was going to tackle anyway.

Today we had a pre-production meeting with contributors for our Documentary, it went really well. By the way, the documentary will be focusing on Alcohol recovery. By tackling the subject matter from this angle, i feel it will give something new to look at. I cant seem to find a documentary covering this aspect, which should mean it’s possibly an untapped idea. Group morale is decent, still working well together, i like the fact that people are not afraid to speak up and express ideas. Be good to see the finish results.

I learnt a decent insight into the subject from my own personal experiences and from researching this topic. I can’t explain the feeling it gives me to meet people who have effectively exorcised there own personal demons and have gone on to each become better people, not only to themselves but to everyone around them. To quote what i heard today from an individual ‘ Alcohol is out there, but the alcohol-ism is In Side Me’ .

Fuck me, that gave me shivers. Trust me, Hearing those words from someone who has been there and done it , to the Fake plastic trees by Radiohead along with seeing what i saw at the meeting and the good work they do. Defo a moment i really questioned myself. I don’t want to give to much details away but it really was great.

The documentary will be made by Euan Brown, Georgina Tibai and Iona Shanks. Going to put a shit ton of effort into it.

On to myself, past few month have been real hard. Kinda worn out emotionally, Suppose i better just power through the work and push myself to improve on my work. Been putting in a lot of time editing and learning cool wee things.

Currently reading through tv listings as research. Finished The Stand by Stephen King, What a Book! Ending was quite underwhelming but what a journey. Epic in everyway. Defo worth a read

I’ve been thinking what do i want from University, and truthfully, i don’t know. I just know what i want to do and university just seems to be on that path, That Probably doesn’t make much sense. Anyway…

Let’s get on with it.
